🇬🇧/🇺🇸B2-C1 What catches your sight in advertisement.
I always flatter myself with the thought that advertisement doesn't affect my choice. But frankly speaking if I see a good advertisement I'll probably give it's product a try. Still, I can say that for me the main reason to buy something is first of all "the need", then "the cost", and also "the satisfaction". For example, I need butter. I saw the advertisement of the Finnish butter, or Prostokvashino etc. When I come to the local store I can buy any butter, but I choose my favourite one from the local brand. Because its cheeper (not always!), and I like how it tastes. How ever, when I travel far from home and need to buy butter I will more likely choose the brand which advertisement I've seen before.
In that case the only factors to catch my sight are the creativity of the advertisement and the beauty of the picture. The creativity shouldn't be excessive, and the beauty must come in hand with the common sence. (Wonderful landscapes with green grass and cows - good choice! Seashore with milkshake - hmm... nice but why? As you can see I'm a little bit conservative.)))
